Introducing XSLideShow
XSLideShow is a free DotNetNuke module to publish photo-galleries / slideshows.
XSLideShow is built with XsltDb, a fantastic DotNetNuke module that uses XSLT transformations to build dynamic and feature rich DNN modules very quickly, and jQuery.

XSLideShow can automatically resize images and thumbnails, load images from different sources and display them with a variety of visualization plugins.

XSLideShow has several visualization plugins, most using jQuery and some using Flash.

Media SourcesImages may come from different media sources:
- the RSS feed of a Picasa Web Album,
- a DNN site folder,
- a Twitpic user feed (from version 01.00.04),
- a DNN site folder with automatic generation of high-quality png thumbnails
- a local XML file in XSLideShow MediaSource format
- a remote XML file in XSLideShow MediaSource format (allows to build dynamic galleries; new for version 01.00.08).
DNN FolderThe gallery built based on a DNN folder is quite simple: the module in this case only searches for Jpg and Png images in the folder specified in module settings, and displays them as a text-only list (that is without thumbnails). You can use any visualization plugin, except no thumbnails are yet available.
DNN Folder with thumbnails (new in version 01.00.05)Since version 01.00.05 the module has its own thumbnail generation function for images from a DNN Folder: it is now possible, then, to use any visualization plugin with this kind of image source.

Picasa Web AlbumsThis template shows images from a Picasa album, which is loaded by indicating the URL of the Album's RSS feed in module settings.
Twitpic User feedIn this case images come from the feed of a Twitter user via Twitpic.
To use this image source type, just set your Twitpic username as "RSS Feed" in module configuration.
XML FileXSLideShow has its own XML definition for albums, both static and dynamic: please see details in this page.
